Run publishing administration under your own brand.
For publishers, labels and distributors: a complete publishing administration platform with your logo, your domain and your email. Register your writers’ songs with your own societies, ours, or both. Import royalty statements, pay your writers on your own splits, run your own website and campaigns, and connect it all to your systems through our API.
- Your own database, never shared
- Your societies, ours, or both
- Every feature on every plan, starting free
- Your writers keep 100% of their rights
Built for the people behind the writers.
Independent publishers
Administer your writers under your own name, with your own societies and your own royalty runs, without building software.
Record labels
Add publishing to the artists you already sign, and collect their songwriting royalties alongside the masters you manage.
Distributors
Add publishing administration to what you offer your artists: register their songs and pay their songwriting royalties under your brand, next to distribution.
Catalog owners
Bought or inherited a catalog? Bring it in from CWR or statements, find what is unregistered and start collecting.
Managers and collectives
Run administration for a roster of writers with one branded portal and clear statements for every one of them.

Your platform, in your brand.
Real screens from a sample company, Lagos Lights Music, with test data: every name, song and figure is made up. Your writers and your team see your name, your colour and your address, and never ours.
Your writers see only you.
Each writer signs in at your address and sees their balance, songs, registrations and royalties, in your brand on a phone or a computer.
- Their share written out on every royalty
- Split sheets, statements and payouts in one place
- Two-step sign-in before any payout

Your logo, colour and home page.
Set your name, logo, colour and fonts once, and they carry through your site, your writers’ portal, your emails and your documents.
- A landing page built from ready sections
- Colours checked so text stays readable
- Hide “Powered by” from the Growth plan up

Bring your catalog, checked first.
Choose your previous administrator’s CWR file or a spreadsheet. Every song is checked before anything is added: bad ISWCs, ISRCs and roles, and shares over 100%, are listed for you to fix.
- Songs already in your catalog are skipped
- Writers with the same IPI number are reused
- Undo an import for 7 days

Keys, a sandbox and signed webhooks.
Make a test key and build against sample data, then switch to a live key. Each key has only the access it needs, and is shown once.
- Read and add works, read writers, registrations and statements
- Webhooks signed so you can trust them
- 600 requests a minute per key

Your workspace, checked for you.
System health checks your email, your keys, waiting work and deadlines every 30 seconds, explains each problem in plain words and offers a fix you apply yourself.
- Fix reports you can download or email
- A security monitor for sign-ins and approvals
- Nothing changes money or rights on its own

Your plan and usage, in the open.
See your plan, how many works you use, this month’s platform share so far, and every invoice with its PDF, whenever you like.
- An email before you reach your works limit
- Invoices that are never changed once issued
- Monthly or yearly, 20% off yearly

The whole publishing operation, in one place.
Every plan has every feature. Plans differ only in how many works you manage, the platform share, whether our logo shows, and, on Free, that everything goes through Star Makers.
Your brand and website
Your logo and colour
On every page, email and statement. Colours are checked so text stays readable.
Your own domain
Writers sign in at your address, with HTTPS set up for you.
Your own email
Send from your domain, or through your own SMTP server, tested before it goes live.
Your website, blog and campaigns
Build your landing page from ready sections, publish a blog and send email campaigns, all on your domain.
A media studio in your brand
Signing announcements, release promos and milestones as images and short videos, with your logo, colour and address.
Your legal pages
Terms, privacy, cookie and refund policies in your name, which you edit and publish yourself.
Your staff handbook
A ready handbook for your team, with golden rules every staff member confirms before working.
Developer docs in your name
A developer page with your name on it, so your partners can connect to your API.
Catalog and registration
Works, writers and shares
Every writer, role, IPI number and share, by right and territory. You administer every share directly; co-writers aren’t asked to confirm.
Import with a preview and an undo
Bring a CWR file or a spreadsheet: every song is checked first, duplicates are skipped, and an import can be undone for 7 days.
CWR delivery and acknowledgements
CWR under your own sender code, checked before sending; acknowledgements matched back to each work.
Society coverage, territory by territory
Choose your own societies or Star Makers country by country, so nothing is registered twice.
Registration gaps and ISWCs
See which songs are missing a registration or an ISWC, and follow every request to its answer.
Conflicts and catalog health
Over-claims, duplicates, missing IPI numbers and society rejections, each with the reason and the fix.
Release details fetched
Recordings, ISRCs and release dates found from Spotify and Deezer, so you type less.
Sync, terms and transfers
Sync requests and pitching, agreement terms and reversions, and song transfers with a signed assignment.
Royalties and payments
Statement import and matching
Statements imported in their own formats and matched by ISWC, ISRC and title; anything unmatched is held for review.
Allocation on your splits
Each line split on the shares in force when it was earned, posted to a ledger that is never edited, only reversed.
Writer statements and payout files
Clear statements in your brand, and payout files in your bank’s format, with a second approver for large runs.
Your own membership fees
Charge your writers whatever fee you choose per agreement, or none, through your own payment provider, with promo codes.
Advances and recoupment
Record advances against a writer and recoup them from royalties, every step approved and logged.
Reconciliation and unclaimed money
Check each statement against what you were paid, and track unclaimed royalties until they are claimed.
Ledger and accounting export
A trial balance and an export for your accounting software, period by period.
Catalog value and owner reports
How your catalog earns over time, and regular reports for your owners.
Your writers’ portal
A branded app for every writer
Their songs, registrations, royalties and statements, on a phone or a computer, in your brand.
Split sheets and signatures
Writers agree splits and sign online; the signed sheet registers the song in one click.
Wallet and payouts
Each writer sees their balance and asks for a payout when they reach your minimum.
Support inbox
Writers ask you questions in the portal; your team answers from one inbox.
Your team and operations
Staff roles and approvals
Operations, finance, support and marketing roles, with a second person approving money.
Audit log
Every change to shares, money and settings, with who made it and when.
System health
Your email, keys, waiting work and deadlines checked every 30 seconds, with fixes you apply in one click.
Plan and billing, in the open
Your plan, works used, this month’s platform share so far, and every invoice with its PDF.
API and developers
A REST API
Read and add works, read writers, registrations and statements, with an OpenAPI description.
A sandbox
Test keys answer from sample data, so you build safely before going live.
Signed webhooks
Hear when a registration is accepted or a statement is ready, signed so you can trust each message.
Keys with only the access needed
Each key has its own scopes, a rate limit, and is shown once and stored only as a hash.
Your societies, ours, or both.
Use your own deals where you have them, and let Star Makers cover the countries where you don’t (Growth and above). Each work goes to one place per territory and right, so nothing is registered or collected twice.
Your own societies
You are the publisher of record: CWR under your own sender code, acknowledgements imported, and societies pay you.
The Star Makers deal
We register and collect for you, with no society memberships to set up first. Royalties reach you allocated to your writers.
Mixed
Yours where you have deals, ours everywhere else: no gaps, never twice, and all statements in one view.
Moving from another administrator? Bring everything.
Bring your catalog the way you already have it. Every file is checked before anything is added, and problems are listed for you to fix.
Spreadsheet (CSV)
One row per writer per song, with shares, IPI numbers, roles, ISWCs and ISRCs. Start from our template, or use the export you already have.
CWR file
The CWR your previous administrator sent to societies: works, writers and shares come across as registered.
Royalty statements
Past statements build the catalog from the songs that earned, with release details fetched for you.
Through the API
Push your catalog from your own system and keep the two in step with webhooks.
Your catalog is yours. Kept apart, kept safe.
Your own database
Every company has its own database. Nothing you store can be reached from another company’s workspace, or from ours.
Encrypted
Encrypted in transit and at rest; payout details and passwords are sealed with an extra key.
Two-step sign-in
Required for your team, with passkeys supported.
Roles and an audit trail
Each person sees only what their job needs, and every change to shares, money and settings is logged.
Your data, always
Export everything at any time and leave with a full copy. We act only as your data processor.
One price a month. A share only when you earn.

On Free, Star Makers takes its share before passing your royalties on. No guaranteed earnings.
Connect your own systems.

For distributors and platforms whose artists already use their app. Your systems send us each song as it is delivered; we register it, track every society’s answer and report what each song earns. Your artists never leave your app, and your team gets a console with every work and where it is registered. Same plans and prices as white label.

Questions, answered.
Do my writers see Star Makers?
On Growth and above, no: they see only your brand, domain and email. On Free and Starter a small “Powered by Star Makers Publishing” shows at the foot of pages.
What is the Free plan?
Every feature with no monthly fee and no limits. Star Makers registers your works and collects their royalties through its own societies and partners, keeps 15% and passes the rest to you with a statement of every line. You can’t use society deals of your own on Free or Starter; move to Growth or above whenever you want them.
We’re a distributor. Can we offer publishing to our artists?
Yes, two ways. With white label your artists sign up at your address, in your brand. With the API plan everything runs in your own app: your system sends each song on delivery, and you show its registrations and earnings, and pay your artists, yourselves.
What is the API plan?
White label without the writer portal, website or studio: the API, webhooks and a console for your team with every work and where it is registered. Same plans and prices.
Who owns the rights and the data?
Your writers keep 100% of their rights, and you own your data. You can export everything at any time.
What is the platform share?
Star Makers’ share of royalties collected through the platform for your catalog: 15% on Free, 10% on Starter, Growth and Pro, or 5% on Unlimited. You set your own split with your writers.
Can I use my own society deals?
Yes, on Growth, Pro and Unlimited. Use your own societies, ours, or both: your deals where you have them, and Star Makers covering the countries you choose. On Free and Starter everything goes through Star Makers, worldwide.
Do co-writers have to approve their shares?
No. As the company you administer every writer’s share directly, and every change is logged.
How do I move from my current administrator?
Import their CWR file, a spreadsheet or past statements. Everything is checked first and anything to fix is listed.
How do my writers get paid?
You download a payout file for your bank and make the payments, then upload the bank’s report to mark them paid. For royalties Star Makers collects, we pay you your share, or, if you authorise it, we pay your writers what you allocated them and pay you the rest.
Is there a contract?
Yes: a white-label agreement and a data processing agreement, which we send once we’ve agreed your plan.
Apply for your own platform.
- We review your application and call you.
- You sign the white-label agreement and data processing agreement.
- We open your workspace and invite your first admin.
- You add your brand, domain and catalog.
